2024 Music and Webcasting licensing is available! Open to any company in the cemetery and funeral service industry in the U.S., the ICCFA is offering 2024 music licensing with ASCAP, BMI and SESAC at the discount rate of $350 per physical address and Webcasting Licenses for $61 per URL/website address. There are no additional fees or membership requirements. Click here to download the form.
NEW for 2024! The ICCFA has added a NEW license to its music and webcasting licensing offerings. A GMR (Global Music Rights) license is an additional license that is available to purchase. GMR is a rapidly growing music licensing organization that serves as a platform for many budding artists and legacy performers. Almost all GMR artists are part of the Billboard Hot 100, so if you want to play newer music, you will want to consider purchasing a GMR license. For a list of GMR artists, click here to view their catalog.
To reduce your risk of copyright infringement and maximize your range in music artists, we encourage you to purchase a GMR license alongside a license the ICCFA has with ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. A GMR music license is $130 per physical location and $25 per URL/website address for webcasting license. Click here to download the music/webcasting form.
Music licensing is the law, and failure to obtain a license where one is required can be costly. Copyright law provides for damages similar to fines of up to $30,000 for each song that is infringed. If your company, regardless of size, hosts performances of copyrighted music—whether the music is performed live or played from recordings—music copyright owners say you are legally required to pay an annual licensing fee.
The music license allows a business to play (perform) any live or recorded music at any service and at any location. The webcasting license is an additional music license that allows a business to stream a funeral service – including the songs played during the service – on their website, without violating copyright laws. You must have a music license before you purchase a webcasting license.
The music license rate is a direct pass-through of the combined annual fees from ASCAP, BMI, GMR, and SESAC. Licensing directly with the agencies this year would cost nearly $600 per location.
