STERLING, VA (December 14, 2023) – The International Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Association (ICCFA) celebrated a successful collaboration with the Death Care Collective (DCC) during the ICCFA Leadership Summit, held from October 24-26, 2023, at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona.

This year’s summit, enriched by the collective wisdom of the ICCFA and the fresh perspectives of the DCC, exceeded all expectations. The event featured three distinguished keynote speakers: Jeffery Tobias Halter, YWomen Corporate Gender Consulting; Elizabeth Mahusay, Southwestern Consulting; and Larry Long Jr., LLJR Enterprises LLC. Each speaker shared profound insights, inspiring attendees to lead with excellence. Other educational sessions included topics on how leaders should embrace opportunities with confidence, the importance of displaying an executive presence, best practices for online networking, and more.

Networking opportunities were abundant, allowing professionals from various corners of deathcare to establish meaningful connections and share ideas. Culinary enthusiasts participated in the Margarita and Salsa/Guacamole Challenge, showcasing their skills in crafting the perfect blend. The Golf Tournament offered a unique combination of friendly competition and networking until a rare Arizona rainstorm rolled over the desert mountains. Participants also enjoyed the serene beauty of Tucson’s landscape through a Morning Mindfulness Hike, fostering wellness and connection as well as nightly receptions to mark the end of a successful day.

When asked about the summit, DCC Co-founder Erin Creger said, “The ICCFA Leadership Summit surpassed our expectations, creating an environment where professionals in the deathcare field could connect, learn, and thrive. It’s truly inspiring to witness the impact of collaboration and shared dedication to excellence within our community. I look forward to future collaborations with the ICCFA, as we continue to shape the future of our field together.”

The 2024 ICCFA Fall Leadership Summit will be held October 15-17 at The St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Stay up to date on the latest information for next year’s leadership conference by visiting iccfa.com/fall.
