Mary Beth McGowan is a Government Policy Advisor at Dykema and a trusted advocate for clients navigating Washington, D.C. She works with corporations, trade associations, and local governments to advance their federal government relations goals, engaging with both Congress and the Executive Branch. Mary Beth develops and implements legislative strategies, identifies funding opportunities, and connects clients with key decision-makers across the federal government.
Poul Lemasters, Esq., is the General Counsel for the ICCFA and brings more than 20 years of experience in the deathcare profession. Starting his career as a funeral director and embalmer, Poul recognized the growing need for legal support in the field and went on to earn his law degree. Today, he combines his unique background in both deathcare and law to advise funeral homes, cemeteries, crematories, and associations nationwide. Poul assists professionals with risk management, regulatory matters, contracts, valuations, and day-to-day operational challenges, while also serving as Cremation Coordinator and Advisor for ICCFA’s Cremation Education Program.
