Cancellation of 2020 ICCFA Annual Convention & Expo
The health and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, speakers and staff are paramount to the ICCFA. As a result, we are cancelling the 2020 ICCFA Annual Convention & Expo scheduled for March 30-April 2 in San Antonio.
Based on the latest public health authority information on coronavirus (COVID-19), and careful deliberation and consideration of the ICCFA Executive Committee, conference organizers, public health experts, and our membership, we must cancel the ICCFA 2020 Annual Convention & Expo scheduled to be held in San Antonio, Texas on March 30-April 2 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
This decision is based on safeguarding the health of our attendees, exhibitors, speakers, staff, and our communities, and takes into consideration the recommendations of public health authorities about limiting large public gatherings and non-essential travel.
We will be in touch with our exhibitors and all registered attendees soon with more information. We appreciate your patience as we work through this unprecedented situation and ask that you please hold off on contacting us until we have more detailed information on registration and finances.
Here are some FAQ that may arise from this cancellation:
Why was a decision made to cancel the ICCFA Annual Convention & Expo?
The decision was based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
- The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the coronavirus outbreak a global pandemic.
- Continued review of recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other governmental bodies.
- Input from our members who were increasingly concerned with travel and the large gathering in San Antonio.
- San Antonio mayor declared a local public health emergency over coronavirus.
- Watching the expanding trajectory of the virus, using tools such as the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering COVID-19 tracking tool to monitor the increasing trajectory of COVID-19 domestically and globally.
Will paid attendee and exhibitor badge registrations be refunded?
The ICCFA is currently working through this process and appreciates patience during this time. More information on refund processing and options will be posted to the ICCFA website and communicated to registered attendees and exhibitors in the coming days.
Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?
The ICCFA is currently working through this process and appreciates patience during this time. Other Expo-related and sponsorship questions should be directed to ICCFA’s Expo Team.
I made a reservation in the ICCFA room block at the Grand Hyatt. Can I get a refund?
The Grand Hyatt hotel in San Antonio, Texas is canceling all reservations in the ICCFA block and returning the non-refundable first night deposit to the card on file. Please be patient as they are also working through a high volume of cancellations.
Will ICCFA help with fees associated with the cancellation of my travel and hotel reservations?
It is up to the individual attendee to confirm cancellation with their hotel booked in relation to the Annual Convention. Please contact your hotel to confirm cancellation. ICCFA will not be able to help with fees associated with housing. Please contact your provider directly. If you booked your room through the ICCFA block, the Hyatt will cancel your reservation and the first night non-refundable deposit will be credited back to the credit card on file. If you booked at another hotel, please call that hotel directly about cancellations.
As to travel, most transportation providers have made special provision to address COVID-19 related issues. Please contact your transportation provider directly.
What about other upcoming ICCFA meetings, will they be cancelled?
As of now, no decisions have been made regarding other upcoming ICCFA meetings. Looking forward, we will rely on the same criteria and input points applied in this case to assess the status of scheduled ICCFA meetings and events. The San Antonio visitors bureau, Visit San Antonio, and Mayor Ron Nirenberg have released statements saying that San Antonio is ready to welcome the attendees and exhibitors of the ICCFA Annual Convention & Exposition.

The ICCFA staff is busily preparing for the 2020 Annual Convention & Expo on March 30-April 2. New exhibitors continue to reserve booths and registrations are steady. We are confident that the Convention will be another amazing event and see no issues, but we want to address how the Coronavirus (COVID-19) may impact some of our exhibitors. Our communication is in an abundance of caution – and to make sure that we provide all attendees with transparent and clear communication!
The health and safety of all Convention participants are paramount. We are keeping up-to-date with information about COVID-19 from both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in our effort to be proactive in keeping our attendees and exhibitors healthy. We are also in contact with the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio to stay apprised of developing precautionary measures to further reduce potential health risks at the Convention. We have been in contact with exhibitors from China, and due to travel restrictions in their region, they have notified us that they will not be exhibiting this year.
In the weeks leading up to the Convention, we will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available. We look forward to seeing everyone in San Antonio!
