Salary- $49,725 – $95,728/annually, DOE

*This residential faculty position begins Fall, 2024*

Provide instruction in mortuary science program courses in alignment with CGCC’s college goals and learner-centered instructional philosophy to a diverse student population.  Use multiple methods and modalities of instruction, assessment, and appropriate technologies to engage students and promote student success.  Demonstrates a commitment to a rigorous curriculum, innovative strategies for teaching and learning, collaboration, service excellence, and professional development in accordance with the Faculty Agreement.

As one of two residential faculty in the program, the successful candidate will have teaching responsibilities and may be assigned to fulfill Program Director duties and responsibilities depending on the needs of the program and the availability of other residential faculty or classified staff.

Three (3) years of occupational experience as well as a Bachelor’s degree in any field

AND

  • past employer documentation
  • licensed to practice embalming in Arizona
  • licensed to practice funeral directing in Arizona
  • a graduate of an ABFSE accredited program
  • experience in funeral service practice
  • experience in restorative arts

OR

  • One (1) year of occupational experience as well as a Master’s degree or higher in any field

AND

  • past employer documentation
  • licensed to practice embalming in Arizona
  • licensed to practice funeral directing in Arizona
  • a graduate of an ABFSE accredited program
  • experience in funeral service practice
  • experience in restorative arts

Special Working conditions:

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver’s license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements

Depending on the needs of the department, may be required to teach:

  • Evening and/or weekend classes
  • 8-week and/or 16-week classes
  • May be required to instruct at multiple sites or locations.
  • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals
