About the ICCFA
The International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA) is the only international trade association representing the entire allied cemetery, funeral and memorialization industries. Founded in 1887 as the American Cemetery Association, the organization was created by cemetery owners and managers whose goal was to improve the appearance and operations of their properties.
In 1996, the association changed its name to more accurately reflect its diverse membership, which included many cemetery-funeral home combinations and related businesses. Today the ICCFA is composed of more than 6,000 cemeteries, funeral homes, memorial designers, crematories and related businesses worldwide. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by the membership. (Applications for nomination to the Board of Directors can be downloaded here.)
The ICCFA mission is to serve and support our members in order to help them succeed. ICCFA members enjoy a host of benefits designed to increase their management proficiency and improve their businesses -- from representation in the governmental arena to educational meetings to a variety of services and products tailored to meet their needs.
The ICCFA promotes consumer choices, pre-arrangement and open competition by helping its members to increase their management proficiency and meet their business needs. The association also assists consumers directly through a variety of informational programs, including the informal mediation of complaints, and circulates more than two dozen model guidelines advocating state legislation on a variety of consumer-related issues.
ICCFA membership requires adherence to its Code of Ethics reflecting sound business practices and respect for consumers' rights.
